Faux-insight setups

"What nobody tells you about hiring is that culture matters." Everybody tells you that. The faux-insight setup promises hidden knowledge and then delivers a common point.

What it looks like

Why it reads as AI

It's clickbait in sentence form. When the payoff is ordinary, the reader feels tricked, and the setup becomes a reason to stop reading.

Examples and fixes

BeforeWhat nobody tells you about SEO is that content quality matters.
AfterOur posts that answered one narrow question got 4x the traffic of our broad guides.

How to fix it

  1. Delete the setup and state the point.
  2. If the point really is surprising, show the evidence instead of announcing the surprise.

When it's fine

If you have a real, specific, little-known fact, you don't need the setup. The fact does the work.
